    The Mysterious Black Modes
are derived from the Black Keys of the piano.
There are therefore five Black Modes and
two other implied modes which I refer to as Ghost Modes.

Taking each Black Key pentatonic
and expanding out the two minor thirds
with a whole and half step to get seven notes
results in four modes each, three of which are
traditional standard modes and
one which I playfully call a Black Mode.

Logically then there are two other modes
Which I refer to as 'Ghost Modes', yielding
Seven mysterious modes.

A piano composer can therefore move
from playing a Black Key Pentatonic
into four different seven Key modes:
three being standard modes and
one being a Mysterious Black Mode.
